The Board of Directors for Hawthorn Park held the regular Monthly Meeting on July 27, 2006. Here are the topics and highlights of the meeting. 

Please note:  These are not the official meeting minutes.  The official minutes are recorded by Patti Wasil, Property Manager, and are archived at the offices of Harmony Management.  Claudia Quehl, Director - Assistant Secretary, also maintains a file of the official minutes.

3.    Reading of minutes of June 22, 2006 meeting [P. Wasil]
4.    Review of Financial Statements [M. Theoret] -- Actual pro rated spending year to date is about $800 over budget.
5.    Property Manager's Report [P. Wasil] -- Dues not received by 7/31 will have added a $25 late fee.  The unpainted fence was also discussed for action.
6.    Committee Reports
+  Activities Fund [M. Theoret] -- Current balance is approx. $1,400.
Activities Planning [T. Falcone] -- An announcement in News Flash will ask people to RSVP to the Aug. 17 BAseball Game.

Maintenance -- Len Lesjak investigated the lighting on the sign which was not turning off, but it fixed itself. 
7.   Ongoing  Business
Mediation Petition
o    Forestry [P. Whitesel] -- Letters from the experts have not been received.
o    SWFWMD Closure -- This is now closed.
FP&L Street Light [P. Wasil] -- FPL repaired the burned out street light at the main entrance.
Unpainted Fence [P. Wasil] -- On 6/22 Ray Dalto offered volunteer labor prior to 7/21 if the homeowner would supply the paint.  He did not.  In anticipation of fines action, a letter will be sent from Sentry.
Second-half assessments [P. Wasil] -- The late fees will not be waived.  A News Flash reminder will be sent regarding secondary phone numbers and alternate mailing addresses.
Lawn Maintenance - Fines Committee -- In anticipation of fines action, letters will be sent from Sentry.
Action Items:

o    2005-08-25-A    Front Entry Landscaping - Claudia Quehl -- Waiting for the County to send the check.
o    2006-02-23-A    Sidewalk Repairs - Patti Wasil, Tom Falcone
o    2006-05-22-A    Front Pond Irrigation System - Mike Theoret -- Mike and Art Stadlin will test the capacitors in the motor.

8.   New Business
Revisit Neal Water Rights/Irrigation Agreement -- Jeanine Balsis will phone Pat Neal.
Orban's Pump -- Patti will give Mike the FPL meter number to verify if we are paying the electric on our pump.
2006 Neighborhood Enhancement Grant (NEG) -- We submitted two proposals:  lighting and trees.  Our lighting proposal has already been denied.  Out tree proposal will be decided 8/3.
Sidewalk Obstructions --  Trees and shrubs blocking the sidewalk or interfering with its safe use is a violation of County codes.  In News Flash, residents will be asked to clear their sidewalks.
9.   Comments from residents -- A resident in Phase 1 would like the ficus trees behind his home to be removed under the NEG, if approved.
