The  Community Picnic will be held October 10, 2004.  There will be a one hour planning meeting on Monday, July 26th at 7:00 p.m. at the home of Art Stadlin, 9215 12th Ave. NW.  Everyone interested in helping should plan to attend.  Volunteers are welcomed.  The committees are:

Vince Meli reported that the Matching Funds Project for the landscaping and lighting at the Hawthorn Park entrance has not yet been decided by the County Commissioners.

Art Stadlin reported that the website mailer that went out with the Association dues letter generated two more families to sign up for the Hawthorn Park e-mail list.

Mark Quehl shared what he learned recently about the horse farm to the west of Phase 3.  The 29+ acre property sold to a developer for $1.9M and will be subdivided into approximately 29 home lots with retentions ponds.  The common swail between Phase 3 and the new neighborhood will remain as is.  The lots will sell for $225,000 and up, and the homes built will be 3,200 square feet and up, wtih some possibly being quite large.  Work has already started to raise the general land elevation to 9 feet from the existing 4 to 5 feet.  Each home slab will be set at about 11 feet elevation.  The name of the new community is speculated to be "The Fountains at Palma Sola Bay."

There was a complaint voiced over the color of a recently painted home in Hawthorn Park.  However, the Architectural Review Committee (ARC) had approved it.

Jerry Lemerise, Harmony Managment, reported that he inspected the lawns and landscaping of every lot in Hawthorn Park and found 10 that he considered substandard.  All ten were notified and eight have already taken corrective action.  Jerry will continue to follow-up.
